Personal

Dobson currently works with drivers across the US, Europe and Asia within some of the most premiere sports car racing series today. Dobson is now setting foot abroad, will be competing in the The 24 Hours Nürburgring. Prior to this, Dobson was the Chief Instructor at the Audi Sportscar Experience in Sonoma, California for 5-years. Paired with his experience at Audi, Dobson was a senior instructor with Jim Russell for 7-years. When he is not racing, instructing, or coaching, Dobson spends time with his daughter Mckenna, or is cycling through the hills of Sonoma.


Racing Career

2013 - 25 Hours at Thunderhill, running in the Lexus IS F CCS-R. Finished 4th in Class (the fastest class at Thunderhill) 5th Overall.

2012 - 12 Hours of Sebring, 2nd Place finish in the LMPC class.

2011 - Competed in Continental Sports Car Challenge in the AM Performance 370Z at Laguna Seca, finished 21st in the 24 Hours at Daytona. Began his first year racing in the American Le Mans Series in the LMPC class. Races include the 12hrs at Sebring, Laguna Seca, Baltimore, and a class win at Petit.

2010 - NASA USTCC Five 1st place finishes.

2009 - NASA 25Hr of Thunderhilll, Finished 1st in E2 class.

2008 - Raced in the GRAND-AM Rolex GT class finishing 10th in GT Mazda RX-8.

2007 - Competed in both Rolex Series GT, with finish of 11th in season finale, and KONI Challenge Series ST. Won SCCA Northern Pacific title with four wins and three track records.

2006 - Scored five top 10s in KONI Challenge ST races, including best of third. Competed in National level of SCCA.

2005 - Earned three top fives in KONI Challenge ST, with best finish of second at VIR.

2004 - Contested Rolex 24 At Daytona, KONI Challenge ST with SpeedSource Factory Mazda and SPEED World Challenge.

2002 - Finished 11th in KONI Challenge ST I points with eight top 10s. Was fourth in SPEED World Challenge Tour with a win and two seconds.

2000-2004- Competed in SPEED World Challenge.

1998-1999 - Won three races in NASA Pro RX-7.

1992-1997 - Competed in Skip Barber Formula Ford and Jim Russell Formula Mazda. Dobson soon became an instructor at Skip Barber Racing School and Jim Russell Racing School.
